A University of Arizona training program created to address an acute shortage of researchers in audiology and speech-language pathology who have earned doctorates has received a $1.2 million federal grant.

The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, part of the National Institutes of Health, awarded the five-year training grant to the program's director, Barbara Cone-Wesson, a professor in the department of speech, language and hearing sciences.

Suzanne Rabe, along with other law professors, helped turn a conference visit to Africa into a national effort to collect books for law school libraries in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.

Rabe, an associate clinical professor at The University of Arizona’s James E. Rogers College of Law, attended the Conference on the Pedagogy of Legal Writing in Nairobi last year. The conference was sponsored by the Association of Legal Writing Directors and the Legal Writing Institute, two national legal writing organizations of which Rabe is a member.

UITS Offers E-Mail Forwarding for Alumni, Retirees

University of Arizona retirees and alumni who graduated in 2006 or later can stay connected to the UA through a new e-mail forwarding service offered by University Information Technology Services.

After leaving the UA, graduates and retirees can choose to have mail sent to their "email.arizona.edu" address forwarded to an Internet service provider or Web-based e-mail address, such as Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail.

The service is free and available for life.
