Nomination Deadlines Near for Teaching Awards

The winners will be honored during the Awards of Distinction ceremony in the spring.
University of Arizona faculty members are encouraged to nominate their colleagues for the University Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Teaching, offered through the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost and the UA Foundation.
Three different awards recognize outstanding achievements in teaching excellence and creativity. They are:
Provost's General Education Teaching Awards
These awards are given to acknowledge extraordinary quality and creativity in the teaching of general education courses.
Nominations must be submitted to the provost's office by Dec. 4.
The Henry and Phyllis Koffler Prizes
The Koffler Prizes recognize outstanding accomplishment and honor individuals who have made major contributions in their fields with an emphasis on originality. One prize is given in each of three categories: teaching, research/scholarship/creative activity, and public service/outreach.
Nominations must be submitted to the provost's office by Dec. 4.
The UA Foundation Leicester and Kathryn Sherrill Creative Teaching Award
The Sherrill Creative Teaching Award recognizes excellence in the art of teaching at all levels, with an emphasis on teaching at the undergraduate level.
Nominations must be submitted to college deans by Nov. 19 and the provost's office by Dec. 4.
Winners will be honored during the Awards of Distinction ceremony in April.
