

The department of French and Italian presents a screening of Rachid Bouchareb’s
"Indigènes" (Days of Glory), which shows WWII through the eyes of four North African soldiers fighting for the French army during the German occupation. This heroic guerilla group fights against impossible odds during the 1941 Nazi invasion of Russia.
Awards for "Indigènes" include: Best Screenplay, Lumière Awards (2007); Best Writing, César Awards (2007); and Best Actor (male ensemble cast), Cannes Film Festival (2006). This film is in French with English subtitles.
There will be a presentation and discussion – in English – led by assistant professor Carine Bourget.
