
"Transitioning from a Technical Professional to a Technical Leader: Positioning, Preparing and Branding for Leadership Positions in Science and Engineering," presented by Alaina G. Levine, director of special projects at the UA College of Science and director of the Professional Science Master’s Program in Applied Science and Business.
This interactive workshop will address key professional skills which will help technical leaders succeed in whatever career they choose. Participants in this innovative and energetic workshop will learn, practice and master strategic skills such as leadership and teamwork development, communication, networking, contact management, partnering with a mentor, personal public relations, branding, professional etiquette, and conflict resolution.
Attendees also will discover how to empower yourself, and the importance of getting noticed for your technical talents. Special focus will be given to making the transition from successful scientist or engineer to technical leader for the benefit of both your career and organization.
