"Foreshadows"

Passing Memory

Inspired by her studies in history and classical archaeological research, Laura Atchinson creates works that explore how the past influences the makeup of who we are and its continual effect within our present world. Through her art, Atchinson studies how our own times and memories interact with the buildup of history and the overgrowth of nature. Using an intermixture of drawing and paint, these layers and maps create a contrast between abstract forms that end up creating more representational images of the world in which we live.

An opening reception will be held May 9 at 5:30 p.m. in the Kachina Lounge. The reception is free and open to the public.
