"Craquelure in Masterpieces of the Louvre as Analogue Models for Development of Joints in Fractured Reservoirs"

Terry Engelder, AAPG Distinguished Professor and internationally renowned structural geologist at Pennsylvania State University, will discuss "Craquelure in Masterpieces of the Louvre." Craquelure, the fine pattern of cracks found in old paintings, presents a rare opportunity to reach beyond the physical sciences for help in understanding a geological process as inscrutable as the development of joints in a fractured reservoir.
