Dominick Argento's "Postcard From Morocco" is a surrealistic opera that takes place in the waiting area of a train station. Seven travelers display their inner fears, while trying to discover each other's secrets.
This production, directed by Charles Roe, includes Kristin Griffeath, Meray Boustani, Robyn Rocklein, Adam Shelton, Dennis Tamblyn, Robb Harrison and Nathan Krueger, all graduate voice majors in the School of Music. A special feature will be the performances of Rick Wamer and Lorie Heald, from the School of Dance, as the puppets.
The eclectic score mixes ragtime, cakewalks, waltzes and Wagner, with members of the Arizona Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Thomas Cockrell.
