As part of Women’s Herstory Month, the ASUA Women’s Resource Center presents an outdoor film screening of "The Unapologetic Life of Margaret Randall."
A revolutionary, writer and mother, Margaret Randall's life story unfolds in this
2002 documentary. From her beginnings in New York City and New Mexico to her revolutionary literature in Mexico, Cuba, Nicaragua and the US, this film documents why Randall has and continues to produce literature focusing on justice, feminism, motherhood and poetry.
Join Celina Valencia and Alisha Gibson before the screening for a discussion on how Randall's life relates to and relays the importance of The University of Arizona Women's Plaza of Honor. The duo will explore the relationship between public history and feminism. After the screening, there will be an open discussion of the film's themes: history and self, mothering during revolution, and unapologetic womanhood in a patriarchal society.
Popcorn and drinks will be provided. Bring your own chairs and blankets.
