The ten women interviewed in "Forbidden Love" paint a portrait of lesbian sexuality and survival during the sexual dark ages of the 1950s and 1960s. The film proudly brings lesbian history out of the closet and makes a valuable contribution to the history of sexuality, charting a territory most often ignored in traditional accounts of the past.
