The University of Arizona welcomes hornist Daniel Katzen to the School of Music faculty. After 5,000 concerts on five continents, in 22 countries and 25 U.S. states, Daniel Katzen is retiring from the Boston Symphony Orchestra and taking up residence as associate professor of horn at the UA School of Music.
In his first UA solo recital, Katzen will perform J.S. Bach's "Suite No. 6 for Cello Solo" transcribed by Katzen for solo horn, and Bela Bartok's "Romanian Dances," with pianist Paula Fan. Keith Johnson, UA professor emeritus, and the UA horn studio will join in performing horn music to celebrate the transfer of professors between two old classmates from Indiana University.
