Opening the Door: Developing Effective Resumes and Cover Letters

An effectively crafted resume and cover letter is a critical first step in getting invited for an interview. A resume is a concise professional account of your career, qualifications and accomplishments. The cover letter is a personalized message to the hiring authority highlighting your marketable strengths, experience and contributions. Coupled together, the goal of these documents is to clearly demonstrate your ability to meet the job requirement and produce results.

This workshop will provide tools and models to develop powerful accomplishment statements along with examples of effective styles and formats. You will benefit more from the session if you bring your working resume or cover letter to the workshop.
